Where our facts come from, how pages are written and checked, and how we fix mistakes.

Sources

  • Hook facts (names, parameters, return behaviour, where each hook fires) come from Oxide's own patcher data for Rust, which is generated from the Oxide.Rust project and the game's server files.
  • Console error messages are taken from what Oxide and the C# compiler actually print, and the compile errors on our error pages were reproduced with our compiler.
  • We do not copy text or plugins from uMod, Codefling, Carbon's documentation or anyone else. Every example plugin on this site was written for this site.

How pages are written

We use AI models to draft explanations and example plugins from the facts above, with strict rules: answer the question in the first sentence, describe only behaviour that the code and the hook data support, and keep it concrete. Every page then goes through automated checks: the example must compile against the current Rust and Oxide (see how we verify), commands and permissions in the tables must match what the code registers, config examples must match the code's config class, and the explanation is checked against the final code.

Keeping pages current

Rust updates every month. Each update triggers a full recompile of every example; anything that breaks is fixed and re-verified, and pages show the Rust and Oxide versions they were last checked against. The monthly update reports list exactly which hooks changed.

Community plugins

Plugins in the gallery are published by the people who generated them. Only plugins that compiled and passed our safety checks can be published, titles and descriptions are written by our system rather than free text, and anyone can report a plugin from its page.
