About kits plugins
Server owners use kits to cut the friction of a fresh start: a starter kit issued on first spawn, a daily or timed kit behind a cooldown, and VIP tiers locked to Oxide permission groups so donors get better gear than the free pool. One-per-wipe kits and wipe day kits reset when the map changes, which keeps giveaways fair across the cycle. Group respawn kits and saved respawn loadouts restore a player's inventory after death, useful for arenas and PvE servers where losing everything on a single gunfight kills retention. The give kit command lets staff hand a loadout to a specific player by name or Steam ID.
What to watch: cooldowns must persist across reconnects, so the plugin should store them alongside player data rather than in memory only. Item lists belong in a config file with per-kit permissions, otherwise every balance change means a recompile. Heavy starter kits on high-pop servers inflate entity counts on wipe day; keep free kits lean and push the good stuff behind VIP.
These plugins run on Oxide (Carbon loads them too) and register chat or console commands, read kit definitions from JSON config, and call the standard item-give and inventory APIs. Permission names follow the kits.vip style convention.
