Gathering plugins for Rust

Gathering plugins change how many resources a Rust player pulls out of a node, crop, fish or quarry, and how fast those resources move through smelting and furnaces. Server owners use them to shorten grind on high-pop servers, to set separate yields for VIP ranks, and to keep tool costs from eating all the ore a player just farmed.

About gathering plugins

The usual problems are balance and stacking. A gather rate multiplier combines with farming yield, quarry output and any per-player bonus, so decide the intended ceiling before you enable several at once. Durability and auto-smelt rules change economy pacing, not just convenience, so they should be reviewed every wipe rather than left as defaults.

Most of these plugins are built the same way: a config file holds the multipliers, Oxide hooks such as Dispenser.Fill or the collect hook on ResourceDispenser scale the yield, and a permission like gathering.vip gates the bonus for a group. Furnace splitting uses StorageContainer.PlayerOpenLoot to divide stacks on open, and settings reload with oxide.reload. Carbon loads the same Oxide plugins.
